Once you've contacted Rees Concrete, a representative will schedule a time to meet with you to discuss your project. After the project details have been finalized an estimate form and drawing will be sent to the customer. Upon approval of the estimate, a finalized contract will be sent to the customer for verification and signature. If a permit is needed, the customer is responsible for obtaining it through the village. As soon as the contract has been returned and all necessary permits are approved, Rees Concrete can begin the project.

CONCRETE QUALITY SINCE 1996
Start Date
On the first day of the project, Rees Concrete will begin by laying out the project with the customer or according to the drawing that was previously approved. We will then excavate the required area and haul away any substrate that needs to be removed including blacktop, gravel, old concrete, or sod. Lightweight excavators and motorized wheelbarrows are used in order to limit any impact on surrounding areas. If desired, any black dirt excavated in the process can be left on the property for customer use or for use as backfill. Once excavation is complete, the project will be framed according to the contract specifications. The substrate will then be installed in accordance with local code. Generally, local code calls for 4" to 6" of compacted gravel, although requirements of each village vary. Usually, the excavation, framing, and gravel installation occurs on the same day. The first half of the payment is due on this day.
After the project has been framed and prepared, it will need to be approved by the village in order to be poured. Rees Concrete will be contact the village and schedule this inspection. Once approved, we will work with the customer to schedule a pour date.

Within 24 hours, we will return to saw cut joint lines, remove the forms, and powerwash the patio and surrounding area. We will seal the concrete this same day if the weather permits. The following day, you are free to walk on and enjoy your project. Heavy objects such as hot tubs and large grills should not be placed on the concrete for 5 days and vehicles should not drive over the concrete until it has cured for 7 days.

Pour Date
On the scheduled day, weather permitting, the concrete will be poured. The final half of the payment is due on this day. If basic concrete is selected, it will be given a light brush finish and a California Cut, if desired. After the concrete dries for at least 24 hours, Rees Concrete will return to remove the forms and complete a final cleanup of the jobsite.

If stamped concrete is selected, the base color is added in the concrete truck when it arrives on the job site. The release color is casted over the wet concrete once it is poured in the forms. The wet concrete is then stamped with the desired pattern. The concrete will then be left to dry with the release powder on top of the concrete. It is important that no one, including pets, be allowed to walk on the release covered concrete, even if it is dry. Do not worry that the concrete does not match your color selection, because the true colors will not be revealed until the concrete has been sealed.
